Overview
Reinforced so it cannot collapse
Suction hose in the UAE is used on the inlet side of a pump, where the pressure inside the hose is below atmospheric. Unreinforced hose flattens instantly under that load, which is why suction hose carries a helical reinforcement and a much heavier wall than discharge hose.
Apex supplies heavy-duty black suction hose rated to 10 bar working pressure in 3, 4 and 6 inch bore, of Italian manufacture, in 40 metre rolls for the smaller sizes and 30 metre rolls for 6 inch.
Galvanised Miller type and Bauer type fittings are stocked alongside — male and female coupling sets, 90° and 45° elbows, Y and T joints, end caps and O-rings — so a complete suction line can be made up from one supplier.

Suction Hose in UAE — questions answered
What is the difference between suction hose and layflat hose?
Suction hose is reinforced to resist collapse under vacuum and is used on the inlet side of a pump. Layflat hose has thin, flexible walls that fold flat when empty and is used on the discharge side, where the pressure is positive. Putting layflat on a suction line does not work — it collapses as soon as the pump starts.
What working pressure is Apex suction hose rated to?
10 bar working pressure across the 3, 4 and 6 inch sizes.
What lengths does suction hose come in?
3 inch and 4 inch are supplied in 40 metre rolls; 6 inch is supplied in 30 metre rolls.
