Post-tensioned slabs
Tendons stressed after the concrete has gained strength, allowing longer spans and thinner slabs.
PC strand wire is the high-tensile seven-wire strand used to prestress concrete and to form the tendon in a ground anchor. Apex supplies strand to ASTM A416/A416M-98 Grade 270 in the UAE.

Overview
PC strand wire in the UAE is seven-wire high-tensile strand: six wires laid helically around a central king wire. It is the tensioning element in post-tensioned concrete and the tendon in a tie-back ground anchor — the same material doing the same job in two different applications.
Apex supplies strand to ASTM A416/A416M-98 Grade 270, 15.24 mm nominal diameter, with 140.0 mm² nominal steel area, a minimum breaking load of 260.7 kN and minimum yield of 234.6 kN.
Anchors are structural elements capable of transmitting stress to the ground by means of structures and anchoring devices — a particular application of prestress in civil engineering, most commonly used in the anchoring of face walls.
The supporting components are stocked alongside: anchor heads from 3 to 16 hole, barrels and wedges of all sizes, mono and multi-strand stressing jacks, load cells and grout pipes.

Applications
Tendons stressed after the concrete has gained strength, allowing longer spans and thinner slabs.
The strand tendon grouted into competent ground behind a shoring wall and stressed to design load.
Pre- and post-tensioning of beams and structural elements.
Questions
Grade 270 refers to the specified minimum tensile strength of the strand in ASTM A416 — 270 ksi, roughly 1860 MPa. It is the standard grade for prestressing strand used in post-tension and ground anchor work.
Minimum breaking load is 260.7 kN, with minimum yield at 234.6 kN, over a nominal steel area of 140.0 mm².
Yes. Both use seven-wire prestressing strand to the same standard. The difference is in what the strand is anchored into — concrete in a post-tensioned slab, grouted ground in a tie-back anchor — and in the corrosion protection a permanent anchor requires.
Anchor heads sized to the number of strands, barrels and wedges to grip each strand, and a stressing jack — mono-strand for stressing one at a time or multi-strand for stressing the whole tendon together. Apex stocks all of these.
