Wellpoint dewatering
The standard prime mover on a wellpoint header main, where the pump must hold vacuum and restart cleanly after any interruption.
A self-priming dewatering pump clears air from its own suction line and starts pumping without being manually primed — which is what makes it practical for site use where the pump sits above the water it is lifting.

Overview
A self-priming dewatering pump in the UAE evacuates air from its suction line automatically, so it can be positioned above the water level and started without anyone priming it by hand. On a live excavation where the pump has to be moved as the dig advances, that is the difference between a two-minute restart and a job.
The Apex unit is a centrifugal pump on a four-wheel site trailer, rated to 50 m head and 400 m³/hour, passing solids up to 50 mm with a 9 m suction lift.
Wetted parts are chosen for abrasive groundwater: an SG, cast iron or 316 stainless steel volute, a bronze impeller and a 316 stainless steel shaft. Suction and discharge are 150 mm PN16 flanges, with quick-acting couplings available for fast hose changes.

Applications
The standard prime mover on a wellpoint header main, where the pump must hold vacuum and restart cleanly after any interruption.
Moved along as the dig advances, without needing a priming crew each time it is repositioned.
Temporary transfer of water around works, where the pump has to sit above the source.
Questions
A self-priming pump can evacuate air from its suction hose on its own and pull water up to the impeller without being filled manually first. A standard centrifugal pump cannot: it must be primed with water before every start, or be positioned below the water level.
The Apex unit has a 9 m maximum suction head. That is a physical limit set by atmospheric pressure, so no pump lifts much beyond it — deeper drawdown needs submersible pumps installed down the well instead, which is exactly why deepwell systems exist.
Yes. The pump is mounted on a four-wheel site trailer, so it can be repositioned around an excavation or towed between projects.
A self-priming pump sits on the surface and lifts water up to itself, limited to about 9 m. A submersible pump sits in the water at the bottom of a well and pushes it up, so it is not limited by suction lift. Wellpoint systems use self-priming surface pumps; deepwell systems use submersibles.
